These images aim to capture the daily life of those who live in this extraordinary place, where the colors of the mountains intertwine with those of the Andean culture.
A few kilometers from here, Tilcara preserves the traces of an ancient and intense history.
Its Pucará, an imposing pre-Hispanic fortress, recalls the tenacious resistance of the Omaguaca against Spanish colonization.
Next to the ruins, the Altura Botanical Garden protects the rich Andean biodiversity, a natural heritage deeply intertwined with the life of the local populations.
But this land also bears the scars of a painful past: a massacre took place here that forever marked the memory of the indigenous communities.
Despite the wounds of history, the people of Tilcara continue to keep alive the bond with their roots, passing on traditions, knowledge and an identity that resists time.
